Replace a Coat Lining
(Winter 2020 classes are full – please join mailing list on top right of this page to be notified of future class offerings)
Basic sewing skills are needed for this course.
Is the lining of your coat or jacket sagging or is it falling apart at the seams? Don’t spend the money a new coat!!! Learn how to replace the lining with a new one that will last longer and look better. Once you learn how to do this, you will be not only be able to replace the lining in in any of your coats or jackets, but your family’s as well. If you have an alteration business, create income in the fall and winter by learning this technique.
In this class, you will learn how to create a pattern from the lining that you have inside your coat and replace it with a lining that feels and looks fabulous. You will learn how to lay out the pattern to get the most out of your fabric and what kinds of fabric work best for lining your coat. If you have more than one coat or jacket to work on, please bring them to class so we can discuss the best fabrics to use for your project. Your new skill will be applicable to coats and jackets for any season and you will be able to update your outerwear for a fraction of the cost of replacing your coats and jackets.
